Ross' CamBot series consists of a 500 series, 600 series and 700 series pedestals that are robust, durable and precise studio workhorses – distinguished by their ability to accept industry leading payloads of up to 200 pounds on the 700 Series pedestals. The CamBot's optical pattern recognition technology guarantees fast and accurate targeting and the high-resolution servos in the series-700 heads provide the ultimate in smoothness and control.

All products can readily be networked using distributed Ethernet architecture, guaranteeing redundancy, flexibility and expandability. Using familiar and easy to learn Windows conventions, operators can easily customize the workspace to access their most commonly used features. 

CamBot 700 series is available as a stand-alone pan-tilt head for mounting on manual studio pedestals or tripods. Its 200-pound capacity easily supports the largest studio cameras and prompters, while setting the industry standard for smoothness, accuracy and whisper-quiet operation. A manual control option allows changing between manual and robotic operation with the flick of a switch. The third-generation 700XY Robotic Pedestal substantially raises the bar for smoothness and accuracy. Using proprietary geometry, together with optical targeting, the 700XY targets in seconds, navigates studio floors with millimeter precision, ends wheel-scrub floor damage and eliminates the need for periodic sensor and target cleaning.

CamBot 600 series is available as a stand-alone product for tripod mounting, or with an elevation column. Its 125lb capacity easily carries today's typical studio configurations with Teleprompters and preview monitors. The elevation column adds extremely smooth on-air quality vertical moves to the production at an economical price point. As an option, local control can be added to the 600 Series PT heads, allowing operators to control Elevation, Pan and Tilt locally through PanBars and Joystick.

CamBot 500 series' offset tilt axis greatly reduces the need for awkward counter-weights, making it an ideal choice when space is constrained and no motorized elevation is needed. The CamBot 500 provides smoothness, speed, precise control, and quality on-air moves. The system's 70-pound load capacity easily accommodates small to medium-sized Teleprompters and can be mixed and matched with all other CamBot heads and control systems.


500 Series - Pan / Tilt Head

Smooth Operator 
The CamBot 500 Series Pan / Tilt head is the ideal robotic camera head for use where space is constrained and no motorized elevation is needed. The 520PT's 70lbs / 35kg load capacity easily accommodates large Teleprompters and other accessories and its offset tilt axis greatly reduces the need for awkward counter-weights.

The CamBot 520 provides smoothness, speed, precise control, quality on-air moves and can be combined with all of Ross' CamBot heads and control systems.

Lens control is reliable and easy with integrated interfaces for both Canon and Fujinon analog and digital lenses. Optionally, local control can be added to the 500 Series PT heads using Panbars.

The CamBot 500 series interfaces with all major brands of Automation Interface including Ross Video's OverDrive, automated production system. As all other CamBot and Furio robotics products, the 500 series is controlled over IP/Ethernet, facilitating commissioning and cabling.

 


600 Series - Pan / Tilt / Elevation

Payload Plus 
The CamBot 600PT is available as a stand-alone product for tripod / pedestal mounting or with a robotic elevation column. Its 125lb / 62kg capacity easily carries todays typical studio configurations with teleprompters and preview / talent monitors. The elevation column adds extremely smooth on-air quality vertical moves to enhance productions – at an economical price point.

The system's lens control is reliable and easy with integrated interfaces for both Canon and Fujinon analog and digital lenses.

As an option, local control can be added to the 600 Series PT heads, allowing operators to control Elevation, Pan and Tilt locally through PanBars and Joystick.

The CamBot 600 Series interfaces with all major brands of Production Automation Systems including Ross Video OverDrive. As all other CamBot and Furio robotics products, the 600 series is controlled over IP/Ethernet, facilitating commissioning and cabling.

 


700 Series - Pan / Tilt / Elevation / XY

The CamBot 700PT is available in two versions: as a stand-alone PT head for use on a tripod or manual pedestal, or as a fully motorized XY pedestal.

Its 200-pound capacity easily supports the largest studio cameras and prompters, while setting the industry standard for smoothness, accuracy and whisper-quiet operation. A manual control option allows operators to change between manual and robotic operation with the flick of a switch. The elevation column adds exceptionally smooth on-air vertical moves – enhancing productions at an economical price point.

SmartShell Unified Robotic Control System
With the introduction of SmartShell 4, CamBot users can now enjoy the same user friendly GUI and more advanced joystick control panel that Furio operators have experienced for years – now with an ever expanding list of features and functions. Now that all Ross Robotics can be controlled by a common control system, this also opens the doors to more complete and versatile robotic solutions where Furios and CamBots are combined to fit perfectly in just about any studio design. More info...

CamBot Legacy Control System

The CamBot control system is based on a modern IP-networked control architecture making it easy to control any CamBot over a local or wide area network. Each CamBot head is smart – containing all of it’s shot memories. This creates a very flexible system with scalability a matter of simply adding more CamBots onto the network. Installing a second control computer can add both another operator position as well as control redundancy. Additionally, CamBot systems can be interfaced with Ross OverDrive as well as third party automation systems for tightly integrated production control.

Cambot User Interface

The CamBot User Interface (UI) is a very intuitive and easy to learn touchscreen system. Setting up a shot is as easy as selecting a camera, framing the shot using the joystick control panel and then storing it by touching the screen. The shot appears as a thumbnail image and recalling it is just a touch away.

Local Control Module

The Joystick enables the operator to control the lift and drive the pedestal around the studio floor.All CamBot systems offer an optional Local Control module to release remote control and permit a camera operator to step behind the camera and operate it manually.

Returning to remote control is a matter of throwing a single switch, without requiring homing or targeting – even if the pedestal has been moved around the floor.

An additional advantage of Ross Local Control on a CamBot 700XY Pedestal is that tracking for VS/AR stays available on all axes in local mode.
