NOTE: The Ultrimix license is a powerful way to process and route audio within the Ultrix frame. To use this functionality, all discrete MADI signals, as well as any video signal where you want to embed or de embed audio, it is required that the signals be clock locked to the same reference that is being used by the router. For signals that do not meet this requirement, an external frame sync with SRC’s are necessary.

Ultrix provides maximum performance and quality with standard configurations supporting data rates up to 3 Gb/s. However, users can purchase the Ultrispeed software licenses that enables 12 Gb/s performance throughout every signal path within the router. When combined with the inherent capabilities within the frame, the Ultrispeed license also enables routing of the emerging single link UHD 60Hz standard alongside current Quad link 4k signals, and seamlessly switch these signals back and forth to each other.

Ultriscape is one of the many industry firsts with Ultrix. Ultriscape is the first software enabled multiviewer. No special output boards, crosspoints, or multichannel connection cables are needed. Simply enable the desired number of outputs to drive the monitors required, and route any input to whatever multi-viewer head is chosen. Because the output is based on SFP’s, users have the flexibility to choose the output type they need for each monitor, thus eliminating the hassle of matching traditional multiviewer outputs to the monitors being driven. Low latency, metering, tally, and UMD support via standard protocols make for easy integration into existing facilities.

In another industry first, Ultrimix provides advanced audio integration, including the ability to embed and de-embed audio on all of the inputs and outputs of the router. This is not a new concept for the modern video router, but what changes the equation is that this functionality is enabled with a software license. No special hardware, crosspoints, or I/O boards are required. Users also have complete flexibility to process, swap, sum, mute, or route any discrete or embedded audio input to any output. Ultrimix is perfect for applications where audio is constantly changing, and it can be added as needed without throwing away any initial investment in the system.

Great hardware is only as good as the control system running it. Ultricore is a complete control system and application that makes using all the amazing features of the Ultrix platform come to life. It is also backward compatible with legacy Ross NK systems, so Ultrix can be integrated into existing facilities.

Routing with Integrated Multi-viewer

In just 2RU total rack space, you have up to 72 in, 64 out routing. All signal paths support up to 3 Gb/s standard, plus support for 12 Gb/s with just a simple software upgrade.

The same hardware provides up to 12 independent multi-viewer outputs using standard HD-BNC I/O or AUX ports. The SFP design permits you to choose between coax, fiber, or HDMI output formats.

Multi-viewer features include 2 PIP sizes plus full screen, integrated audio metering, border/tally, and UMD. There is a simple control and configuration for a single or multiple multi-viewers across many frames using DashBoard.

External Multi-viewer

In just 2RU total rack space, you have up to 72 inputs for up to 12 independent multi-viewer outputs using standard HD-BNC I/O or AUX ports. The SFP design permits you to choose between coax, fiber, or HDMI output formats, and there is support for both embedded and discrete audio inputs. Multi-channel MUX/De-MUX for 4K facilities

Infrastructure products for single link 4K are very limited in scope and availability. Another use for Ultrix is as an integrated series of 12 Gb/s Mux / De-mux modules.

One use case could be for 16 muxes and 16 de-muxes to shuffle audio from a series of single link 4K sources.

Routing for Production Vehicles

The compact 1RU and 2RU sizes makes Ultrix perfect for trucks, vans, trailers, and other mobile production environments.

The 2RU frame provides up to 72 x 64 12Gb/s video I/O, 12 multi-viewer heads, and up to 1024x1024 audio channels. The feature rich routing platform also provides advanced audio processing.
